You cannot be the light in a world awash in light
Bless the darkness, rich like soil
Be the grounding axis, spread your roots
Embrace it’s nutrients, it will feed you
Walk freely through its dense matter
Demonstrate your gratitude
You will be led to create life
On the path of blessings that you lay
Guided to be light
You can’t avoid the darkness of life. If you try to shut it out you’ll deny yourself the opportunity for growth. Growth can be painful, but the pain is superficial. I’ve lived it, and found that what hasn’t killed me has truly made me stronger. I’m still here. I’m solid.
On the other hand to resist the process, to numb yourself, to insist on the anxiety producing comfort of stasis will only result in real anguish. Pain that runs deep to your core. It’s death to your soul, to your natural state of extension and energetic perpetuity.
Love yourself through pain. Reflect, then quiet your mind and listen. Be like the calm eye of a storm to shed your old skin and draw upon growth. Without the storm there would be no central axis. You are the central axis of all that occurs around you.
In a whirlwind, or in perfect peace, you remain the vessel for the holiest energy. Remember always, that your roots run deep. A clear mind allows for those channels to stay open.
Even in the darkest moments, only a hint of receptivity, a single open artery allowing the flow of nutrient rich etheric matter is all you need to transcend, transform, grow into what you really are. Pure ecstatic beauty.
If you’re left with any doubt, perhaps John Ruskin’s words will ring true. As a lifetime student of beauty and contrast, his contemplations have been a great inspiration to me.
