Lotus Moon Face Oil for Dry & Sensitive Skin

I’ve been using this Lotus Moon oil for the last month and am loving the results

While massaging the oil into my skin I can feel its calming effects straight away. After applying a couple drops at night I’ve been waking up with supple skin in the morning. During the day it provides just enough moisture to apply under my RawSkinCeuticals foundation. The oils take a little while to absorb, so I’d recommend waiting about 15 minutes before applying makeup.

On days that I haven’t worn make-up the oil has kept my skin feeling balanced and slightly dewey at first, and despite having dry skin, my morning application has kept my face feeling hydrated all day.

Aside from function, I also love the super clean ingredients

This all organic formula is made from whole ingredients. You can read the label and understand exactly what’s in it without having to look anything up.

A major upside to using oils is that, without the presence of water, preservatives aren’t necessary to prevent quick spoiling spurred by mold growth. But even oils alone have a shelf life and can go rancid. Light and oxygen are the biggest factors. To avoid any issues, keep the bottle out of direct light and use within about 2-3 months for best results.

If you’re curious about why they’ve grown so popular in the last few years, here’s the unique role each oil plays:

Jojoba Oil

I’m only going to touch on the surface here because there are so many wonderful benefits to using Jojoba oil, but what probably sets it apart most is that it’s very close in composition to the natural oils present in our skin. This allows it to be absorbed into the skin and produces a silky smooth texture. Jojoba also works to reduce inflammation, while also killing bacteria, so it’s great for reducing breakouts and soothing wounds or rashes.

Argan Oil

This is another oil that has some impressive healing properties. It’s contains vitamins A and E, along with anti-oxidants, Omega-6 fatty acids, and linoleic acid. Together these nutrients help to reduce inflammation, boost cell production for an anti-aging effect and help to reduce acne by reducing sebum levels in individuals with oily skin.

Pumpkin Seed Oil

Pumpkin seed oil may not sound as exotic as the other ingredients in this list, but don’t let that fool you! This oil is also high in essential fatty acids, rich with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, which all combined have a calming and regenerative effect on the skin. This is a powerful aging prevention and hydration agent.

Evening Primrose Oil

Evening primrose oil is high in omega-6 fatty acids. These EFA’s help to maintain healthy cell membranes and balance hormones, so it’s no surprise that a recent study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science found evening primrose oil helpful in preventing and reducing signs of skin aging. It’s also proven to be effective in treating inflammatory conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

All together it’s safe to say that applying these ingredients as part of a regular regimen is sure to have a powerful effect on maintaining hydrated and youthful skin.
